Farming accounts is the most important part of arbitrage. The role of a farm account manager is underestimated and rarely discussed. Nevertheless, in 2024, no arbitration team can function without account farming, which is supervised by the farm department. Let’s take a look at how to become a farmer and what tasks they face.
Account farming is the creation and management of social media accounts, imitating the actions of a real user. With the development of technology and the improvement of artificial intelligence, social networks are getting better at recognizing accounts created to promote prohibited advertising or spam. Therefore, farmers need to constantly find new ways to bypass these algorithms.
As recently as 6-7 years ago, no one thought about “artificial intelligence” and the rules of advertising on social networks. The word “farmer” simply did not exist then. It was just a few steps that a webmaster could do on his own. But over time, online advertising processes have only become more complicated. That is why the profession of a farmer is firmly entrenched in the CPA industry and will not go anywhere.
The job of a farmer is to create an account that looks like a real user’s profile.
Given a good set of circumstances, the system (social network) will not react to his or her “ actions, because in the process of farming, the so-called “trust” is earned. In arbitration, trust is an ephemeral concept, and each arbitrator has his or her own opinion on it. Therefore, we will try to talk about it in the most rational context. Some accounts can be blocked immediately upon, for example, binding a payment method, while others can upload a huge amount of creatives and go unnoticed. The farm department is responsible for all of this.
Arbitrageurs play a key role in the CPA industry. However, without farmers, they would not be able to work efficiently and fill ads.
Account farming significantly increases trustworthiness. With the growth of trust, advertising networks provide more benefits and privileges.
Let’s take Facebook accounts as an example. When you buy a raw account without prior farming, the daily ad spend can be $25-50. It should be noted that without farming, this amount will take a long time to increase. However, carefully farmed accounts can increase the limit to $250 within a few days if managed properly, and in one or two weeks, make daily spending almost unlimited.
If an account demonstrates behavior typical of a real user, the initial actions in the advertising account are usually tracked by a bot, not a human. In order to identify violations of the advertising rules and refer the account to a moderator for review, the bot needs to record several violations, which gives the arbitrator more time to place the ad. Thus, you can spend a significant amount of money on advertising before your account is blocked.
The situation with ad moderation is similar to the one described above. On well-farmed accounts, ads are checked by a bot, which allows you to bypass its triggers. In case of sending ads from a newly purchased account, the verification will be performed by a live moderator.
The main tools for farmers:
The issue of choosing between remote and office work remains relevant and ambiguous. Some employers insist on the traditional format, arguing that employees are more focused and productive when working in the office. Others, considering themselves progressive, promote the idea of remote work, arguing that it is the demands of the times.
The solution to this issue depends on your own preferences and goals.
If you want to quickly enter the world of arbitration and become an experienced specialist in this field in a year or two, then the office will be your best choice. Working among colleagues with similar interests, you will be able to significantly accelerate your professional development. When you reach your professional ceiling, you will want to grow further – to become a department head or a team leader.
However, if you are interested in arbitration solely as a part-time job, you can look for remote vacancies. It is not difficult to start working in this field – it is enough to have basic computer skills.
