Payment card or payment is often overlooked by newcomers to arbitrage. This can continue until they encounter blocking of advertising accounts.

In this article, we explain why not all cards are suitable for traffic arbitrage and what aspects you should pay attention to when choosing them.

Why not all cards are suitable

If you are a private advertiser planning to promote a product or service within the laws and rules of the platform, there should be no problems. In this case, you can link a regular bank card of any bank to your personal account.

But in arbitrage, everything is not so simple. Webmasters aiming for significant income work with a lot of offers. There is one important rule in this case: one advertising account should be associated with one proxy and one card.

Using the same card in several advertising accounts can lead to a decrease in trust in all accounts in case one of them is blocked, or even to a complete block.

In addition, not every card is suitable for linking to Facebook. The social network has long been tracking the behavior of arbitrageurs and knows which payment methods they use most often.

This is determined simply: the first six digits of the card number contain information about the country of issue, payment system, bank, and card type. If cards of a certain bank or payment system are often blocked, it is likely that you may experience similar problems.

There are three main negative consequences of using unreliable payment cards:

  1. The card may not be linked to the account at all, which will force you to replace it with another one.
  2. The card may be linked, but Facebook will start checking your account more carefully. In this case, if you immediately launch a campaign with content that violates the platform’s rules, your ad account may be blocked.
  3. Facebook may start showing your ad creatives to a less active audience, which will lead to a charge for ineffective impressions. You will be able to notice this only after a deep analysis of the advertising campaign, otherwise it will seem that the problem is in the creatives themselves, although in fact it is different.

Which card to choose for payments?

There are two main types of payment instruments: virtual and plastic cards. Let’s consider each option separately.

A classic bank card. In most banks, you need to visit a branch in person to get it.

Arbitrators need a large number of cards, and the need to visit the bank and the restrictions on the number of accounts and cards that can be opened can be time-consuming.

In addition, banks may charge fees for account maintenance and card issuance.

But plastic cards have a significant advantage: they arouse less suspicion when used. Especially if the card is issued by a relatively new bank, whose BIN numbers are unlikely to have already fallen under the suspicion of social networks.

If you use a card from a well-known bank in your country, which is easy to obtain, there is a chance that its BIN numbers have already attracted the attention of Facebook.

Many arbitrageurs prefer banks that offer free service, the ability to link 5-10 cards to one account, and home delivery of cards.

It is best to open a card in a bank in the country where you plan to promote the offer. However, if this is not possible, the use of a plastic card is also an acceptable option – it will still be more trustworthy than a virtual one.

Virtual card. Such a card can be issued both through a bank and a payment system. Apart from the fact that Facebook can recognize the type of card, there is another potential problem: when you reissue a virtual card, you may receive a number that you have already used on Facebook and it has been blocked. In this case, after linking the card, the account may be blocked.

However, some arbitrageurs successfully use virtual cards without negative consequences.
