December always sounds different.
Some people turn on classical music to stay focused, others listen to Slipknot to get into “maximum productivity” mode, and still others listen to jazz, which smells like warm garlands and prosecco.
We asked representatives of Ukrainian digital, marketing, and creative industries what music they listen to on workdays and what gets them in the New Year spirit.
The result is here! A true anthology of December soundtracks: from piano classics to 2000s pop-punk, from Dorofeeva to Frank Sinatra, from hard rock at the beginning of the month to a jazz finale.
In short: this is a playlist in which everyone will recognize themselves or their mood this December.

I love listening to YouTube playlists like “Music for Concentration” or “Meditative Music.” At the very least, any deep house set. The main thing is that there are no words, so nothing distracts me. And I always use vacuum headphones for complete immersion.

In December, I have my own personal productivity soundtrack: “Khreshchatyk” by Pavlo Zibrov and “Kyianka” by Garik Krychevsky (Ukrainian version).
And, of course, Dorofeeva, because her music sets the pace even on the most festive days.

Lately, I’ve been listening to Slipknot a lot, especially the track People = Shit. It instantly puts me in work mode.
In the car, I usually listen to Archive or Deftones. But if I’m not driving alone, I have to listen to Dorofeeva. What can you do?

I listen to All Time Low while I work. I discovered them when I was 15, in the winter, so every December I go back to my favorite albums.

I’ll be corny. Of course, the legendary track that’s perfect for snuggling up in a blanket and watching the snow fall is “Emerald Sky”!

My instant switch to a festive mood is “Jingle Bell Rock” by Bobby Helms. Turn it on and you’re no longer in a work chat, but somewhere between the Christmas tree, champagne, and a list of gifts.

I haven’t been in the New Year mood since 1998. Back then, I was given a cassette player, on which I listened to Ruki Vverh. Since then, no New Year’s gift has brought me more happiness.

For me, the New Year mood is Frank Sinatra and George Michael.

Light jazz with elements of dark techno!

Definitely pop music from the 90s and 00s: warm, nostalgic, and a little magical. And also, my favorite musical, “Evenings on a Farm Near Dikanka,” because where else can you find so much real New Year’s magic?

December is quite a dynamic month. Despite the gray picture of the city outside the window, which reminds me of hell. I think hell looks like Kyiv in December. Maybe we are already in hell?
And the joyful laughter of my loved ones lifts my spirits. It’s the best music.

In my playlist, December sounds like pop-punk from the 2000s!

It would be indie folk with a touch of jazz: something warm and cozy, but with a cool undertone of melancholy.
