Ready, set, SiGMA! In just a few weeks, many of us will be packing our bags and heading to the long-awaited summit in Rome, to meet others, show what we’ve got, and get inspired. Under one roof, operators, teams, partners, and affiliates will come together to share insights, discover new opportunities, and form partnerships that move the industry forward. That’s what we love about SiGMA — it’s all about real energy and meaningful connections.
This year, Moon Partners will be there too, at booth #5024. We’re coming not just to shake hands, but to meet our partners in person, share insights, and show our vision for the future of affiliate marketing. And of course, we’re making a solid plan to get the most value (and the best new connections) out of the event.
Here are a few tips that might help you do the same 👇
Set clear goals and a networking plan
It might sound obvious, but every action at a conference should follow a simple formula: plan → task → result.
Decide what exactly you want to achieve: maybe it’s a certain number of new contacts, a few signed deals, an exchange of ideas, or a deep dive into market trends. Whatever it is, make it measurable, for example, “meet five new potential partners.” Without clear goals, even the best conference can turn into a chaotic walk from booth to booth.
Make a list of companies you want to meet. Pro tip: check out the Floor Plan section, it has a map of exhibitors and their locations. Pick your top targets and plan your route, so you can network efficiently without wasting time or energy. We all know walking 50,000 steps at a conference is fun… until it’s not 😅
And don’t forget to book meetings in advance. Reach out to company managers you’d like to meet and reserve a slot, this guarantees you won’t miss anyone important. You can also schedule a meeting with Moon Partners on our LinkedIn page.
But remember: plan smart, and leave room for spontaneity. Some of the best connections happen by accident.
Network so people remember you
Networking isn’t just about swapping business cards,it’s about energy, chemistry, and genuine communication.
Our advice: be real. Everyone’s here for similar reasons and is open to conversation, but avoid coming across as too salesy. No one enjoys being pitched five seconds after “hello.”
To make your talk smooth and memorable, jot down a few talking points in advance. A great trick is to do a bit of homework, google the company or person you’re meeting. For example: “Hey, I saw your recent marketing campaign — a really cool concept! I liked how you…” This kind of personalized opener works like magic. People appreciate when you’ve done your research. Also, try to remember a couple of personal details about your conversation so you can mention them later in a follow-up. Personalized communication always wins.
Take care of yourself
Conferences are a marathon, not a sprint. Schedule short breaks, eat, stay hydrated, and rest when you can. Don’t try to be everywhere, it’s better to be effective at a few key points than to burn out halfway through.
Bring essentials: a power bank, business cards or a QR code with your contacts, and a small notebook (or notes app) for quick ideas. And yes, dress comfortably, your feet will thank you later.
Don’t skip the afterparties
Those unofficial meetups matter! About a month before the event, companies start sending invites to side events and afterparties. These are casual gatherings with great vibes, shows, and most importantly, people who are much more relaxed and open to real conversation.
It’s the perfect mix of networking and fun. Just remember: have fun, but don’t forget that everyone remembers everything 😄
Follow-up is gold
This is the step many people skip, but it’s crucial. Once everyone’s back home and rested, reach out to the contacts you made. Send a short message, remind them who you are, and follow up on what you discussed.
Don’t wait weeks, two or three days after the event is ideal. Strike while the iron’s hot!
